Major Cyber Attack :Twitter, Amazon down ,Denial of Service (DDOS)
Are you not able to access twitter a Denial of service , DDOS is in progress as reported by the security watch.
A reported major cyber attack caused the denial of service or DDOS , resulted in the service faliure for the big players like Twitter,Ny Times ,Reddit and many more. while a second attack is also reported on Amazon and spotify.
As reported by Dyn a Internet traffic company on Friday that they have already warned of another cyber attack after websites and services across the US East Coast were shut down earlier in the day. As per the Dyn statement at 11:52 am ET:
“We have been continuing working to monitor and mitigate a DDoS attack against our Dyn Managed (Domain Name System) infrastructure”.
Dyn also said that the attack may also some what put impact on “Dyn Managed DNS advanced services with possible delays in monitoring.” As it happens during this writing , dyn website is also not accessible.
Uptill now it was not known who was behind the distributed denial of service attack. The Department of Homeland Security explained that they are looking into all potential causes of the attack. North Korea was suspected initially but according to NBC News one U.S. intelligence official said North Korea had been ruled out as a suspect.The White House said U.S. authorities are monitoring reports of attack on the internet services company and whether it is a “criminal act,” according to Reuters.
Many famous websites like Amazon, Twitter and Spotify were shut down for nearly 02 hours Friday morning by an earlier denial of service attack. CNBC was also affected by ddos. Amazon reported later that it was once again having service issues but claiming to resolved the problem.
Also Netflix reported that they are experiencing issues,Although they did not explicitly mentioned ddos. Spotify mentioned that some of its members were experiencing delay and problem in accessing their website.
